FREQUENTLY asked QUESTIONS

+ What type of children do you work with?

We work with diverse learners from age 3 through grade 6.

+ How long will it take for my child to be on grade level?

Every single child is different. No two children will progress at the same pace. We believe that it is unethical to guarantee a certain amount of progress in a certain amount of time, especially without knowing and working with a child first.

With that said, all students we have worked with have achieved their personal goals.

+ How long are your sessions?

All sessions are 50 minutes.

+ How many sessions per week do you recommend?

It depends on your child’s goals but typically we recommend 2 sessions per week.

+ How much does your service cost?

Our fees are dependent upon multiple factors, including subject area, frequency of sessions and location.

+ Is our tutoring one-to-one or with a group?

LG Tutoring offers one-to-one learning as well as learning pods.

+ Where are the tutoring sessions held?

Our tutoring sessions are held at the LG Tutoring offices in Weston, MA, or alternatively at your home for an additional fee. We also offer sessions via Zoom. We can also accommodate a hybrid model.

+ What subjects do you offer tutoring in?

We offer tutoring in a variety of subjects. Reading intervention and early literacy/kindergarten readiness are the most requested subjects.

+ Do your tutors work with my child’s school, teachers or other service providers?

Absolutely, with your permission, our tutors reach out to the student’s teachers to increase communication and understand the requirements of the class. Often they also provide insight into the child’s learning challenges or areas. We aim to build a team to help support each child’s needs.

+ What if I need to cancel a session?

If a session is cancelled at least 24 hours prior to the session commencement time, then a credit will be given for the cancelled session, which can be rebooked at a time agreed between the parties. If a session is cancelled less than 6 hours before the session commencement time, or if a student misses a session or is a ‘no show’ and no cancellation has been received, 100% of the session rate will be forfeited.

+ What are your COVID-19 Protocols?

We are closely following guidance from state and local officials and health authorities as we take extreme care to maintain a safe and healthy environment. We are available for both in-person session and remote learning.

The following are a list of protocols we have in place to keep our students, families and tutors safe:

-All tutors are vaccinated and have recieved booster shots

-Hand sanitizer is provided at the tutoring station for the student(s) to use during the tutoring session.

-All workstations are sanitized after every lesson

-We encourage students to bring their own materials/supplies (our supplies are sanitized after each use)

-Face masks are optional during the tutoring session. Families may request that Lindsey or any other tutor wear a face mask but it is not a requirement
